About these tours

Pilgrimage Tours in Armenia & Georgia

Armenia, the first nation to adopt Christianity as a state religion in 301 AD, holds one of the most concentrated collections of early Christian sites in the world. Pilgrimage tours are designed for travelers seeking spiritual depth alongside cultural context — visits structured around major holy sites with time for prayer, reflection and where possible, attending services led by local clergy.

Visits typically include Etchmiadzin Cathedral, Khor Virap, Geghard Monastery (carved into living rock), Tatev Monastery (reached by the Wings of Tatev cableway), Noravank, and Sevanavank. Multi-country programs extend into Georgia for Sameba Cathedral in Tbilisi and Mtskheta — the seat of Georgian Orthodox Christianity. Visits to Catholic Churches for Holy Mass are also organised upon request for Catholic pilgrims.

Groups travel with a guide trained in Armenian church history. Optional add-ons include manuscript visits at Matenadaran and meetings with parish priests at smaller monasteries. Tours run year-round; spring and autumn are most comfortable, while Christmas and Easter pilgrimages follow the religious calendar.

What Our Travelers Say

Real experiences from real adventurers

Hiking

My trip to Armenia has just ended. We climbed Aragats, the highest peak of Armenia, as well as some volcanoes. We also crossed the highlands which are inhabited by shepherds, and enjoyed an amazing horseback ride. But the cultural aspects were truly fascinating as well. We met the Molokan community expelled by the Tsar in the mid-1800s and the Yazidis, whose religion is inspired by Zoroastrianism. The Matenadaran (the ancient library) with its thousands of manuscripts and the monasteries that we visited were absolutely breathtaking. Yes, we can say that it is a small but interesting country: Armenia is waiting for you!

My husband and I joined the Lonelytraveller group tour to the Caucasus and spent six days in Armenia. We were very happy and grateful to have Miss Nara as our tour guide. She is extremely knowledgeable and enthusiastic, and she shared with us the rich history and the beautiful sights of Armenia. We learned so much during our journey. We would like to sincerely thank you and Miss Nara for arranging such a wonderful holiday for us.
